Busy Bee Septic and Excavating LLC
Long-running firm providing sewer and septic service, including excavation, for homes and businesses. Servicers and cleaners drive trucks to haul crews and equipment to work sites, use shovels and other hand tools to dig out sewer lines, and maintain the area around pump or lift stations. They may also communicate with supervisors and co-workers to clarify details or troubleshoot on the job, as well as with customers, to explain services or gather information. A high school diploma is typically required for these jobs.
Septic Tank Maintenance Tips for Homeowners
A septic system is an alternative to public sewer lines for sewage or wastewater disposal in homes where a central treatment plant isn’t available. Wastewater contains pollutants and germs that need to be properly treated and disposed of to protect the environment and human health.
All of the wastewater from your home drains through one main pipe into a septic tank, which is buried belowground. The septic tank digests organic matter and separates solids from oily materials, which float to the top as sludge. The liquid wastewater (effluent) exits the septic tank into a piping network that disperses it across an absorption field, which is a series of perforated pipes buried in the soil.
It is recommended that homeowners have their septic tanks pumped every three to five years. Regular septic tank pumping will keep the solids from building up and passing on to the absorption field, where they can clog the drain lines and soil. Other ways to prevent septic tank problems are to install water-conserving devices in faucets and showerheads, repair leaking toilets, and divert roof and surface drainage away from the septic system.
